Here are some places to check when you are in Belize.
Real Estate Belize: Where to Go Place # 1 Ambergris Caye

This is said to be the queen of the cayes. It has a population of around 5000 people. There is one town in Ambergris Caye and it is called San Pedro. San Pedro remains to be a very prosperous village filled with smiling faces. This caye is said to have the highest literacy rate in the country. Because of their education, they have taken a high level of awareness about the need to take care of the environment including the precious coral reefs that surround the caye. When you observe Ambergris Caye, you will find out that there are huge houses that surround the town and this is basically a result of the profits that tourism has brought in. Locals and very enterprising individuals have made a lot of money from the thousands of tourists aboard cruise ships that visit the place. You can get a water taxi from the marine terminal and it will only take you an hour and a half to get here.

Real Estate Belize: Where to Go Place # 2 Caye Caulker

Caye Caulker is only made up of 800 people. It really is a small town but the people are very friendly and warm. The houses in Caye Caulker are painted very brightly and these houses stand on top of coral reef lines. Caye Caulker has witnessed upgrades and developments as the years go by but it is said that golf carts still outnumber cars 10 to 1. People use their feet and bikes as a means of transportation. If you want an easy life, Caulker is the place to be as there is even a sign that says, “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem!” How is that for living easy? What is interesting is that Caulker has their own phone directory and the places listed would go something like “near the football field.”

Real Estate Belize: Where to Go Place # 3 Hol Chan Marine Reserve

This place is a great real estate Belize paradise. Hol Chan is a Mayan word for “little channel” and it is four miles away from San Pedro. You can find Hol Chan in the southern part of Ambergris Caye. There is no fishing allowed here so you can see teeming aquatic life protected from the harsh elements. This is a diver’s favorite spot because you can see nurse sharks and manta rays in Shark -Ray Alley. However, fair warning must be given because the currents of the ocean in Hol Chan can be quite strong. You need good swimming skills here.
