When those six months are up, you will then have to decide if you want to settle here. That would be a period of a year and one month and perhaps that period is enough for you to decide on what to do.
Another option you can take is to apply for your one year tourist visa in advance. You can only do this if you belong to the CARICOM, which is the Caribbean Community of Nationals. The countries that are part of CARICOM are Canada, Mexico, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Venezuela, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and the U.S.A.
