There were places like Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, but nothing ever astounded me when I saw the newly discovered sanctuary Belize. Aside from the beauty they said it possesses, the prices in Belize are affordable. My pension would definitely be able to handle the cost of living in the country since it doesn’t exactly ask too much.
Before purchasing any Belize real estate property for myself, I took the time and effort to take a short trip to the country and spent a week there, checking into one of the hotels in Ambergris Caye. The area was teeming with tourists all fascinated with the place and planning out the next adventure in their itineraries.
Belize real estate offers different and various properties depending on one’s desire or need. I simply said to an agent that I am looking for a cozy and comfortable place to live in where it can accommodate my wife, our dog and myself. It wasn’t difficult. I was surprised to see decent houses cheaper than I would imagine them being sold in the US, with a higher quality of work. I have made the deal of purchasing one and did all the paperwork myself. It was rather easy and I didn’t need the help of my lawyer because I was guided through the process. Affordable houses in the nice community of Corozal are plenty.
Interestingly enough, it wasn’t just the beach people that come visit here. I discovered within my week’s stay that there’s a vast and lush rain forest that comprises the most part of the country with mountains that have wondrous peaks. I was also told I should try snorkeling and scuba diving for the country has one of the best diving spots in the world that is always visited by enthusiasts from different parts of the world. Most parts of the country are preserved for endangered animals. The Mayan ruins are worth a trip to for those who want to go on an adventure and relive the past.

All in all, it didn’t cost much. And now we are enjoying a quiet life with friendly people who speak English as their first language. Though some areas do speak Spanish and other languages, it was still easy to get along with the people. We never got the feeling of being outsiders since most of the people, despite the skin color and cultural differences, get a long pretty well with everybody.
